Today is Friday and unlike Chicago, it is not snowing and in the mid 30s. (Or so I see...Facebook has been all atwitter with snow updates.) I have to say I am enjoying not freezing and asking myself "Why do we live in Chicago again?" It's nice. However, even though it's supposed to be in the 50s on Sunday and staying in the 40s and 30s all next week, I find myself going home for the second half of the week. As much as I miss home, I don't miss the winter. At all. However, I really need my hair done. Damn the cold, I need my Melissa. And hopefully I'll also be able to meet up with some old friends in the process. (Not to mention Lynne and Chris' engagement party.) Luke will be at a music conference the last half of the week so I thought it was a good time to take a trip with Kylie. She and I spend so much time together in this house that I think we need a change of scenery. Cold scenery, but a change none the less. I'm looking forward to it. And Kylie is too...she just doesn't know it yet.
As of the moment, I am sitting on the couch. I woke up this morning with terrible chest pain. (Not scary chest pain, just painful chest pain) At first it was more like heartburn and now it's more like "please, God, let me throw up...". TMI? I'm sorry. I just feel crappy and want to whine about it. I'm by myself...this is the best I can do. I have a heat pad on my back and that seems to help a bit. I could WebMD this, but I don't want to know I have cancer of the everything so I am blogging about my misery instead. Any guesses as to what is wrong would be nice. (And, no. I'm not pregnant.)I also had some tea, which also helped a bit. And a bagel. In the meantime, I am going to continue to lay here. And feel sorry for myself. Oh. And shop for boots online. I love boots.
So I am trying to come up with some updates about us and our house. There haven't been many changes. I mega cleaned our laundry room last week. No big deal? Oh. You have no idea. I was so tired of tripping over brooms and swiffers and the vacuum. Not to mention Luke's tool bag and the dog's junk. I couldn't find anything without taking things off the shelves and it was a pain to get to. I wish I had a picture of the before but just know that there was little to no floor. So I cleaned it! I labeled the shelves and made it fabulous. A laundry room...fabulous...who knew?! I'll post a picture. (Now for those of you who have never seen my house, the reason for the patch work on the wall is that there was a huge hole going into the garage. Kinda... We can't figure out why the hole was there or what it was as it was cut out nicely... Cat door? Anyway, we patched it because it was starting to get cold and we were afraid of mice. We plan to paint the room so it is what it is for now.) And right now, it's FABULOUS!!
I think I'm going to stop my blog here. See? Look at that. I did have something to type about. Kinda. I rambled. The rest of the post will be pictures. I finally backed up my phone so I have pictures. They are fun. Enjoy!
Fabulous, right?! And all the little white lines you see are labels. I labeled everything!!! Amazing! And all the brooms and swiffers are hanging on the wall. Beautiful. :'D
This is what I wake up to every weekend morning. Luke gets bored and sends her in the bedroom and she does this until I wake up.
I cook! Yummiest pasta ever. Seriously. It's pretty much amazing. I'll make it for you, mom and dad, when I get home.
This was just a picture of our house at Christmas time. Doesn't it look peaceful? I love this picture. :)
I want that recipe. Oh, and I want that laundry room too! :)
